About the Opportunity
Legal Assistance Strategy within Justice Policy and Analytics is responsible for the control and coordination of coordination of a range of high-quality program functions to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Legal Assistance Services program in South Australia.
The Data and Policy Analyst reports to the Manager Legal Assistance Strategy and is responsible for the use of business intelligence tools (in particular, the use of the Power BI software application) to undertake data analysis from a wide variety of information sources, but particularly service activity data from the legal assistance sector.
The successful candidate will have:
- Contemporary knowledge of data visualisation techniques, report and dashboard design and development, and in particular, knowledge of Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, model and interpret data.
- Proven ability to understand and apply statistical data and research skills in order to provide evidence-based and strategic policy advice.
- Problem-solving skills using a methodical and logical approach.
- Proven ability to communicate complex data analytics in plain language, operate effectively under broad direction, exercise judgement and delegated authority, analyse problems and recommend effective and efficient solutions.
- Proven high-level interpersonal skills to effectively consult, advise and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders at the local, state and national levels.
- Knowledge of government agency structures and/or functions, relevant government policies and policy development processes.
