About the Opportunity

The ICT Services Business Unit is responsible for helping to meet a wide range of IT needs throughout the department by providing expertise and services in ICT Service Desk and Desktop Support, Infrastructure Management and Technical Support, ICT Contract Management and Procurement, ICT Security and Policy,  IT Asset Management, software licensing and compliance, ICT Change Management that assist in meeting the overall AGD objectives.

The Service Desk Officer is responsible for supporting business operations by providing customer focussed, first level ICT support, and effective ICT incident resolution. This position will additionally undertake varying service request fulfilment and administrative duties, such as the creation of network accounts, and the provision of standard software and hardware to AGD customers (according to defined policies and processes).

The successful applicant will:

  • Deliver high quality internal and external customer service.
  • Effectively manage their own performance requirements to achieve work outcomes.

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be will provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.

  • This role may be required to work inside Forensic Science SA buildings where forensic evidence is tested. If required, the incumbent must provide a reference DNA sample so that their DNA profile can be generated and stored on a Quality Assurance Register. The register compares reference profiles against profiles generated in casework and monitors for the possibility of contamination.
  • Participate in a Service Desk roster providing services from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Some out of hours work may be required.
