About the Opportunity

The South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT) is a quasi-judicial tribunal that considers applications and disputes about civil and administrative matters.

The primary purpose of the Senior Community Access Officer is to manage complex applications to the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT), from lodgement until completion. The role of Senior Community Access Officer is customer facing. The Senior Community Access Officer provides a high level of quality support services that contributes to the effective operations of SACAT.

The successful applicant will:

  • Adapt quickly to changing and emerging priorities.
  • Effectively manage conflict and escalates when appropriate.
  • Critically evaluate issues and ensures solutions are practical and achievable.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Client Contact Services; such as
  • Assisting applicants who cannot use the online application form to completion; and
  • Providing current and accurate information to users on all types of applications, with consideration to each individual case
  • Case Management; such as:
  • Managing allocated applications from lodgement until completion; and
  • Ensuring that all case files are kept up to date and all relevant information is included.
  • Contributing to an effective team environment; such as:
  • Providing informal mentoring to Community Access officers

Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be will provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.

  • May be required to move to a different role or location as required.
