About the Opportunity
The primary purpose of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Officer has responsibility for assisting in the provision of effective Freedom of Information services and responding to applications made under the Freedom of Information Act 1991 (the FOI Act) for the Attorney-General’s Department and its separate agencies.
The Freedom of Information Officer provides high level customer service and expert advice to applicants, business units and a range of internal and external stakeholders while ensuring administrative and legislative requirements of the FOI Act are met.

Personal Qualities
- Demonstrated ability in processing large volumes of work and managing workload.
- Highly developed communication skills, and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels, including the provision of expert advice to executive staff.
- Sound analytical skills to review and assess information and interpret legislation.
- Strong written communication skills with experience in preparing high level correspondence.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be will provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
